Cutting height can rule out either standard mower
Genie’s 70 mm maximum is below 3 inches. So is the LUBA 3 standard version’s 2.7-inch maximum. If your intended mowing height is 3–4 inches, the LUBA 3 high version is the relevant configuration in this comparison. Choosing AWD alone does not solve a cutting-height mismatch. That distinction matters for typical residential Midwest lawns: University of Minnesota Extension recommends maintaining them at 3 inches or higher. Its guidance concerns grasses commonly grown there, including Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass and fescues; it should not be treated as a universal height prescription for every climate and turf species. Decide the height your grass needs before selecting the mower. For a lawn maintained below 2.7 inches, both ranges may be relevant. For a 3-inch Midwest lawn, Genie and standard-height LUBA 3 fall short regardless of acreage or slope capability.
What the slope numbers actually tell you
ANTHBOT publishes a 45% maximum grade for Genie. Mammotion’s family comparison lists 80% for LUBA 3 AWD, LUBA 2 AWD, LUBA mini AWD and LUBA mini 2 AWD. This makes LUBA AWD the family to investigate when a mowing slope exceeds Genie’s stated limit. It does not establish comparative wet-grass traction or boundary handling. Measure grade using vertical rise divided by horizontal run, multiplied by 100. The run is the horizontal distance, not a tape measurement laid along the hillside. An 80% grade corresponds to approximately 38.6°, not 80°. USGS slope calculation.
Use the steepest section the mower must work on when screening candidates. Separately identify slopes ending at water, a road or a drop. A headline climbing limit does not specify suitable boundary setbacks or protective barriers; those locations need the exact model’s operating instructions before they become part of a mowing map.
A one-acre lot and one acre of grass are different purchases
One acre is 43,560 square feet. To estimate mowable area, either subtract the house, driveway, deck and garden beds from the lot area, or divide the grass into sections and add their areas. Wisconsin Extension describes both methods. Measuring lawn area.
For a full acre of grass, Genie 3000’s listed 0.89-acre maximum is too small. LUBA 3 AWD 3000, listed at 0.75 acre, also falls short. LUBA 3 AWD 5000, listed at 1.25 acres, is the capacity candidate among these models. Dividing a lawn into zones is a scheduling tool; it does not provide a higher published total-area rating. The model numbers are not interchangeable capacity labels: Genie 3000 and LUBA 3 AWD 3000 have different advertised coverage. Once a model clears the area requirement, consider how much mowing time you can allow between charging, rain interruptions and family use of the yard. Avoid treating a per-charge coverage headline as a complete weekly mowing plan.
Navigation and installation differ within LUBA itself
Genie needs a suitable location for its RTK reference station. ANTHBOT’s installation guide calls for no blocking wall or large building within 3 metres, an unobstructed 120° space above the station, and a flat charging location with a clear approach. For LUBA, distinguish these configurations:
- LUBA 2 AWD and LUBA mini AWD: Mammotion’s family table lists vision plus RTK.
- LUBA mini 2 AWD: The table lists LiDAR plus dual-camera vision.
- LUBA 3 AWD 1500: The product page specifically identifies LiDAR plus AI vision, without RTK/NetRTK, despite broader Tri-Fusion language elsewhere on the family pages.
- LUBA 3 AWD 3000 and 5000: The product page lists LiDAR, NetRTK and AI vision, with NetRTK supplied through Mammotion’s iNavi service.

For a 3000 or 5000 using NetRTK, establish whether your address has iNavi coverage and suitable connectivity. Mammotion describes iNavi as free for the product’s lifetime, while separately stating that included 4G data lasts three years and requires a subscription afterward. Which belongs on your shortlist?
Consider Genie when its cutting range suits your turf, the measured grass area fits the chosen size, slopes stay within its published limit and the yard offers a suitable RTK and charging location.
Consider LUBA AWD when steeper terrain is the deciding constraint. Within LUBA 3, choose the high version for a 3–4-inch mowing target and the 5000 capacity for a full acre of grass. A smaller LUBA may suit a smaller lawn, but its navigation configuration still matters.
Before ordering, record the full model and height version alongside your grass area, steepest grade, narrowest passage and proposed charging location. Ask the seller to address those specific yard constraints. Neither a larger battery nor AWD answers every access or installation problem.
