How is water use estimated?
Flow rate times minutes estimates shower and faucet water; gallons per flush times daily flushes estimates toilet water. The model repeats your entered daily usage for 365 days.
Which sewer rate should I use?
Enter only the sewer charge that decreases when metered water use decreases. Fixed fees and some seasonal or capped sewer bills will not change; use zero for those charges.
What does WaterSense mean?
EPA WaterSense specifications include both water efficiency and performance criteria. Check the specific product label and your existing flow rate.
Can the new fixtures increase consumption?
Yes. Higher flow or flush inputs produce negative savings, shown as additional use. Longer showers or other behavior changes can also offset a fixture improvement.
