Is an EV cheaper to run?
It depends on vehicle efficiency, charging and fuel prices, and maintenance. Enter your actual blended charging cost, including public charging fees where applicable.
What does break-even include?
It divides the entered purchase premium by positive annual running-cost savings. Financing, depreciation, insurance, registration, charger installation and incentives are excluded unless included in your price or cost inputs.
Why enter both maintenance budgets?
Vehicle age, tires, service schedules and use matter. EVs have different maintenance requirements, but a fixed percentage saving is not guaranteed.
Which EV efficiency should I use?
Use miles per kWh measured from electricity purchased at the charger where possible. Dashboard battery efficiency can omit charging losses. EPA vehicle labels and your charging records help build a comparable estimate.
